Laser boriding was proposed to form the boride layers on Inconel 600alloy. Microstructure consisted of Ni 2 B, Ni 3 B, CrB, Cr 2 B, Fe 3 B and NiCrFe phase. Hardness of laserborided layers was comparable to diffusion borided layers. Abrasive wear resistance was ten times greater comparing to untreated Inconel 600alloy.
